Of those two I’d use the bull from Topp. I’ve still got a cow that goes back to the Bogart daughter on the bottom of her pedigree. If she was mine and I wasn’t worried about horns I’d breed her to S109. He really seemed to click with that cow family. We are going to breed some heifers to him again this year. They make great momma cows.

Should add that those Magnum daughters were not powerful females by any stretch and considering her mother was double bred that way I wouldn’t breed her to a carcass bull. Sire might have bulked her up some but just wouldn’t be my cup of tea.

Let me guess, you work with a Select Sires technician? I personally believe in buying from the breeder but if you have to use what Select has I would use the CL 1 Domino 215Z bull, and nag Select to buy one of Danny Miller's Victor Dominos.
Stroganherefords, the sectsires rep lives about 2 miles from dads house so yes we tend to use select sires. Especially when it something we will not be using a lot of such as in this case. Other times we buy from individuals or whatever semen company has bulls we like or meets our needs.
