When I was a kid, my family went to visit my uncle who lived in the DFW metroplex. One of their local TV stations broadcast bullfights from Mexico, including the killing of the bull. The first couple of kills were botched and the matadors had to make several attempts before they were successful. After watching that, my Dad and I were rooting for the bulls.
Clint, was that this spring? It seems like Farm Fest rolls around faster every year. We always think we will get a new set of bulls ready to take, but I suppose it will be the old ones again this year.
No, a couple years ago. We might be in a spot for farmfest. Just sold the last spring yearling this week. I do have one fall bull on test at Werners, he looks good on PAPER! Really he was a good looking bull out of an older proven cow and his gain does look good so I might have to break him in a week and drag him down. I hope you got some rain in the last 10 days. We did and it sure changed the mood, could have sold 3 or 4 bulls this week if we had them. Couldn't have given them away a month ago.
We have had about an inch a week for the last 30 days. The fall pasture is getting a really good start, but hay is really short. Eric bought 120 acres and that will help. It has 11 buffalo on it and they have to be removed so that is going on yesterday and today. Trapped 8 yesterday and hope the other 3 today. There is a man here from ND getting them so we have to trich the bulls. Hauling them to the sale barn to collect them. Hopefully that will end today and create a spot for 40 cows.
